The fortified town of Aigues-Mortes seems to have risen from the water between the marshes and lagoons of the Camargue. It offers an exceptional architectural heritage and a religious heritage marked by templars and crusades. The ramparts count 6 towers, one of which is the Tour Constance, and 10 gates. Besides the ramparts the lovely marina, connected to the sea by Le Grau-du-Roi and to the town of Sète through the Rhône Canal, is definitely worth a visit. Every year, during the Fête de Saint-Louis in August, Aigues-Mortes is thrown back to the Middle-Ages thanks to the parades, shows, medieval markets, etc. An original way to visit the town.
